Return & Earn

Shantana is proud to announce our partnership with Tomra Cleanaway and the NSW Government in becoming a Return & Earn collection point.

How does it work?

Our collection point is located just outside the office entry in our main yard. Bring your containers and place them near the bins and let a member of staff know your here for the Return & Earn, please don’t bring containers into the office. We do ask you leave plenty of time in case we may be busy serving other customers or on the phone as this is our primary focus and we will always endeavour to keep your waiting time to a minimum.

Once all the containers have been counted we simply record your first name and how many containers you deposited and then offer you a cash refund. We do ask that if you have some change to bring it with you as we very quickly run low and may ask you to make up the difference to the closest note value, alternatively if your already a Shantana customer we can make a note on our system for you to use you refund against your next order.

We accept containers Mon – Friday from 8am – 4pm and on Saturdays from 8am – 2pm. While these are not our opening hours we appreciate you trying to make it in those times.

What can I bring?

We follow the rules as set out in the scheme examples of what is accepted is soft drink cans, water bottles, beer bottles, cider bottles, mixed alcohol bottles and more. If your unsure click HERE and you will be able to enter the barcode and see if its included. There is also a list what can not be accepted things like plain Milk bottles, wine/ Spirit bottle, flavoured milk over 1 Litre along with other items visit returnandearn.org.au

Return and Earn has been introduced to reduce drink container litter across NSW. Wine bottles and spirits in glass containers are predominantly consumed at home and are not regularly found in the litter stream.

Containers should be empty, uncrushed, unbroken and have the original label attached. Wine, spirits, cordial and plain milk containers are generally not eligible. If your container does not have a label it may not be recognised as an eligible container.

If a container isn’t eligible for a refund, please use a recycling bin.

Do I need to separate my containers?

When we count out the bottles all the glass goes into one bin while other containers such as aluminium cans and plastic bottles go into another bin. If its possible for you to separate them we would very much appreciate it as it will save us time. If they are already mixed together don’t stress we will separate them when you get here.

What happens to my containers?

Once you leave your containers Cleanaway comes and collects them in their truck and they are transported to their Eastern Creek facility where they are further sorted and separated then moved on locally and overseas for recycling and to be reused once again.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to give one of our staff a call on 4751 3977 and we will endeavour to answer your questions. Alternately you can contact the Return & Earn help line on 1800 290 691
